One number in.
The whole picture out.
The real carrier
Voice and messaging carrier — the actual network serving the line, not just the brand on the bill.
Line type
Wireless, landline, or internet-based (VoIP) — the first thing to know about an unknown caller.
Trust Check
Private, on-device guidance built from porting activity, line type, and your own block/allow decisions.
Location context
Where the number is based, its timezone, and the technical routing details when you want them.
Block the ones you're done with
Send a number straight to iOS call blocking and junk message filtering — integrated with the system, managed from the app.
Searchable history
Every result saved automatically. Search, favorite, tag — and repeat a recent lookup without spending another credit.
Watchlist with alerts
Watch the numbers that matter and get notified when one changes carriers — a classic sign something's up.
Guidance, not a verdict.
And it never leaves your device.
Scam campaigns leave fingerprints — freshly ported numbers, anonymous VoIP lines, carriers that keep changing. Carrier Scout weighs those signals together with what you already know, and explains every point of its score.
Signals on this device point to a number you know and trust.
Nothing here raises a flag, though signals are guidance — not a guarantee.
A few signals suggest extra care before you answer or reply.
Several signals suggest this number may not be what it claims.
Computed on your device
Numbers are never sent to a reputation service. The score is built from information the app already holds — nothing new leaves your phone.
Every point explained
Tap the score and see exactly which signals moved it, in plain language — no black box, no mystery reputation number.
Your judgment wins
Mark a number a favorite and your call outranks every heuristic. A cautious rating is a nudge to be careful — never an accusation.
From one suspicious call
to a spreadsheet of thousands.
Carrier Scout scales from a quick check on your iPhone to serious batch workflows on iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro — with everything synced through your personal iCloud.
Batch lookups from CSV & Excel
Import a list, watch it process with live progress, and export enriched results back to CSV or Excel.
A workspace that follows you
Notes, tags, favorites, watchlist entries, and protection rules sync across your devices via iCloud.
Widgets, Siri & Spotlight
Run lookups from Shortcuts, glance at usage from a widget, and find any saved number straight from Spotlight.
No accounts. No ads.
No reputation database of you.
Lookups go to our carrier-data service and nowhere else. The Trust Check runs entirely on your device — numbers are never sent to a reputation service. Your history and workspace live on your device and in your personal iCloud, which we can't read.
Start free. Scale to a million.
Every download includes 3 free lookups — no account, no card. When you're ready, subscription plans cover every volume, and credit packs top you up between renewals. Prices are shown in the App Store at purchase.
Subscriptions renew monthly and can be changed or canceled anytime in your App Store settings. Unused monthly lookups don't roll over. Credit packs top you up between renewals: they're spent only after your monthly allowance runs out, and stay valid for 30–90 days from purchase depending on pack size. Repeating a recent lookup reuses the cached result at no cost.
Fair questions, straight answers.
Does Carrier Scout tell me the name of the person calling?
No — and be skeptical of apps that claim to. Carrier Scout reports telecom routing data: the carrier serving the number, the line type, and where it's based. That's the reliable, verifiable layer. The Trust Check then helps you judge whether the number's behavior looks legitimate.
What exactly is the Trust Check?
On-device guidance built from signals like recent carrier moves, line type, and your own block/allow decisions — not a verdict. A cautious rating doesn't prove a number is a scam, and a good one doesn't prove it's safe. Your judgment always wins.
Is my lookup history private?
Yes. History, notes, and your workspace stay on your device and in your personal iCloud if you enable sync — we can't read either. The number you look up is sent only to our carrier-data service to perform the check. There are no ads and no tracking. The full policy is at carrierscout.app/privacy.
Which numbers can I look up?
Carrier Scout covers North American (NANP) numbers — US, Canada, and Caribbean territories in the +1 country code. It validates numbers before sending, so malformed or international numbers never waste a lookup.
How does call blocking work?
Blocking and junk filtering use Apple's own system extensions. After a one-time enable in iOS Settings (Phone → Call Blocking & Identification, and Messages → Unknown & Spam), numbers you block in Carrier Scout are enforced by iOS itself — the message filter works fully offline.
Do lookups cost a credit every time?
No. Repeating a lookup you ran recently reuses the cached result and shows a "No Credit Used" badge. Monthly allowances reset with your billing period, and credit packs top you up in between — they're used only after your monthly allowance runs out, and stay valid for 30 to 90 days from purchase depending on pack size.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro — one purchase, everywhere. Batch imports shine on iPad and Mac; Vision Pro gets a fully native spatial app, not a compatibility port.
